大澤哲哉（おおざわてつや）の卓越した造形力。
愛知県常滑（とこなめ）の土の限界を引き出した彼の造形には「美しさ」が備わっている。

常滑の土に化粧土を施し、鑢（やすり）でうつわを磨く。
磨くほどに刻まれる土の表情。
古道具から着想を得た風合いを目指して、黙々と手を動かす。

常滑の急須作りで培われた、特有の艶を生み出すための材料「チャラ」。
このチャラを釉薬に使い焼き上げ、さらに磨きを重ねる。

窯の火をくぐり抜けたうつわが、やがて独特の質感を放つ。
ただ、磨きすぎても魅力をそこなうのだ。
どこで手を止めるのか。見極める「力」が試される。
それは彼自身が研鑽を怠らず、年月をかけて磨きあげてきた「技」なのだ。

使って完成していくことを考えた彼のうつわたちは「育てる楽しさ」を教えてくれる。

Tetsuya Ozawa's outstanding modeling ability.
His sculptures, which draw out the limits of Tokoname clay in Aichi Prefecture, are imbued with “beauty.

He applies a decorative clay to Tokoname clay and polishes his vessels with a file.
The more he polishes, the more the clay's expression is engraved.
He works silently with his hands to achieve a texture inspired by old tools.

The material used to produce the unique gloss, “chara,” has been cultivated in the making of teapots in Tokoname.
This chara is used as a glaze for firing, and then further polishing is done.

After passing through the kiln's fire, the vessels eventually give off a unique texture.
However, too much polishing will also ruin the charm of the piece.
Where does one's hand stop? The “power” of discernment is put to the test.
It is a “technique” that he himself has been studying and refining over the years.

His vessels, which are designed to be used and perfected, teach us the “joy of nurturing”.

Faded and overlapped persimmon tannin lacquered tools.
